(AP) -

A massive space shuttle external propellant tank will be squeezed through the streets of Los Angeles to join a display of the retired orbiter Endeavour at the California Science Center.
The big move is scheduled to begin at 12:01 a.m. Saturday and take up to 18 hours to travel 16 1/2 miles of streets from a small harbor on the coast to the center near downtown.
The trek is expected to be not as difficult as when Endeavour was hauled to the center from Los Angeles International Airport. That journey took about 17 hours longer than planned.
The tank was shipped to California by barge from Louisiana. The tank traveled through the Panama Canal to the Pacific and then northward to Marina del Rey on the Los Angeles County coast.
