Posted: Updated:

Sara Nelson scored twice and drove in 3 runs as 5th ranked Luther defeated Saint Catherine 6-4 to advance to the championship game of the Decorah regional.

After scoring in the first inning on an RBI single from Ashley Burrows, the Norse fell behind 2-1 in the third following a 2-run home run from Megan Lindenfelser.

Luther tied the game on an RBI fielder's choice in the bottom half of the inning and took a 3-2 lead after Nelson scored her second run of the game on Burrows' double in to the left center field gap. The Norse added 3 more in the 4th when Nelson hit a bases loaded double over the center fielder's head for a 6-2 advantage.

Saint Catherine kept it close scoring 2 in the 7th before Samantha Bratland shut the door to pick up the win.

The Norse will again face Saint Catherine again in the title game on Sunday. Luther advances with a win, while Saint Catherine would need to win a pair of games to claim the regional title.
