DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

The Dubuque Fighting Saints gave up five 3rd period goals as they fell 5-1 to Tri-City in the opening game of the Clark Cup finals.

Dubuque's Hunter Miska opened the game strong in goal denying every Tri-City attempt through the first 2 periods. The Saints offense, meanwhile, broke the scoreless tie late in the second when Evan Smith shoveled the puck past Storm goalkeeper Peyton Jones for a 1-0 lead going to the third.

Tri-City took the lead with 2 goals in the first six minutes of the final period, and then scored 3 more, including a pair of empty netters, over the final stretch to put the game away.
