Former Wapsie Valley, Loras Grad new A-D at Montana State

Posted: Updated:

39 year-old Leon Costello has spent the last seven years as deputy athletics director at South Dakota State University..

Costello has been instrumental in helping to spearhead major facilities upgrades at SDSU.

That includes building a new 20-thousand seat $65-million football stadium.

Oddly enough-- Leon Costello interviewed but was passed over for the Montana State job just last week. But Kyle Brenan changed his mind after being introduced as A-D eight days ago.

Costello will begin his duties in mid-June.  He is a graduate of Wapsie Valley High School and Loras College. Costello also served as an athletics administrator at Northern Iowa.
