Swaney's hat trick powers Waterloo past Tri-City forcing game 5

Nick Swaney scored 3 times as the Waterloo Black Hawks staved off elimination, beating Tri-City 7-4, forcing a winner take all game 5 on Tuesday night in Kearney, Nebraska.

The Black Hawks looked like a determined team in the first period, out-shooting the Storm 19-10 while picking up goals from Yuri Terao and Ronnie Hein to lead 2-0 at the intermission. 

Tri-City scored a pair of goals in less than a 2 minute span in the second period to briefly tie the game at 2. That's when Swaney scored his first of the game for a 3-2 advantage going in to the third period.

Carson Meyer scored for Tri-City at the 11:26 mark to tie the game at 3 apiece. That's when the Black Hawks took over. Sam McCormick gave them an edge just 47 seconds later.  Swaney and Mikey Anderson each tacked on goals for a 6-3 advantage, while Swaney scored an empty netter with 1:01 left to round out the scoring.
