Posted: Updated:

The Linn-Mar boys shuttle hurdle team blazed across the Drake Stadium track setting a new relays mark on Saturday afternoon. Daniel Gorsich anchored the Lions home in 55.65, topping the previous record of 56.09 set by Cedar Rapids Kennedy in the 2010 season.

That performance led the way for another championship day for several Eastern Iowa teams.

The Cedar Falls boys rolled to a title in the 4 x 800 meters in a driving rain. Lavallee Hunter anchored the Tigers to a winning time of 7:52.14.

Cedar Rapids Prairie won their second relay of the weekend, with Jalen Rima helping the team to the win in the boys 4 x 100 meters in 42.37 seconds.

Linn-Mar's Stephanie Jenks finally captured a relays flag on her third attempt of the weekend. Jenks tallied her 9th win at the Drake Relays by taking the championship in the 1500 meters in a time of 4:32.02.

Cedar Rapids Jefferson picked up their second title of the weekend in a sprint relay. Senior Jasmine Blue, who anchored the victorious 4 x 200 team on Friday, did it again in the 4 x 100 bringing the J-Hawks home in 48.16 seconds.
