Black Hawks Ready for Game 3 of USHL Playoffs

Posted: Updated:

The Waterloo Black Hawks feel good about stealing one from the Lincoln Star's on their home ice as they return home to Young Arena with the series tied at 1-1, looking to close out the best of 5 series.

"Yea it was huge, Lincoln is a good team and to get one on the road and in their building it sets us up nice coming back home for the weekend." Said Center Shane Bowers,  "And I think with a good week of preparation we should be ready."

"It was good we got one road win, home ice advantage now is absolutely huge the fans will get us pumped up and going, it was a good split." Right defenseman Collin Saccoman agreed.

The Black Hawks have been tough to beat at Party Town going 17-10 on the season and the Black Hawks believe the fans play a big part in that record.

"Its not easy for other teams to play here." Continued Saccoman.  "We've got a lot of fans here that get loud, the cowbells get going...and that's good for us."

The Black Hawks know they must improve on at least a few areas after losing game two 5-0.

"It starts in the D zone, making the little plays, getting the puck out of the zone." Said Center David Cotton, "We gotta get the puck on net, get to the dirty areas and check better."

While the Black Hawks obviously want to win the series there is a little extra incentive, one more playoff victory would be the 50th in coach P.K. O'Handley's career.

The game three puck drops at 7 o'clock Saturday night at Young Arena.
