Wartburg snaps Luther's 27 game win streak

Kristie Sommer drove in 4 runs as the Wartburg softball team stunned second ranked Luther 12-4 in game one of a double header. The win marked the first ever for the Knights over a top 5 program and snapped the Norse' school record 27 game winning streak.

Luther opened the scoring in the second inning with a solo home run off the bat of Anna Strien. The Knights struck right back in the bottom half with a 3 run shot off the bat of Sommer. Wartburg later scored 4 in the bottom of the 5th to take control of the ballgame.

Kimberly Wedeking picked up the win for the Knights, allowing 4 runs in a complete game. 

Luther won the 2nd game of the double header 14-2.
