Fighting Saints even up series with Green Bay with overtime win

GREEN BAY, Wis. (KWWL) -

Dallas Gerads scored in overtime as the Dubuque Fighting Saints took down Green Bay 3-2 on Monday night. The victory evened their best of 5 series at a game apiece.

The Fighting Saints had to claw back from a 2 goal deficit after the Gamblers picked up goals from Marc Michaelis and Ryan Blankemeier in the first 2 periods. Willy Knierim scored late in the second to pull the Saints within one going to the final period. Petter Makitalo tallied a goal less than one minute in to the third that would eventually send the game to overtime setting up Gerads winner.

Dubuque and Green Bay will hook up in game 3 when the series returns to the Mystique Community Ice Center in Dubuque on Friday night.
