Pair of power play goals lift Waterloo to 2-1 playoff win in Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KWWL) -

Waterloo scored twice on the power play as the third seeded Black Hawks opened up the Clark Cup Playoffs with a 2-1 win over second seeded Lincoln.

The Black Hawks notched the first goal in the first period. Mikey Anderson fired a shot past Stars' keeper Peyton Jones for the first tally at the 14:32 mark. Liam Pecararo feathered a pass to the top of the crease later on as Sam McCormick knocked it home in the second for a 2-0 lead.

Lincoln's Collin Peters scored their only goal on a power play with 5:28 remaining in regulation.

Waterloo goaltender Cale Morris stopped 23 of 24 shots to pick up the win.

The Black Hawks and Stars hook up for game two on Saturday night in Lincoln.
