UNI Women go on scoring spree in MVC victory

The UNI softball tram upped it season record to 27-12, with a series-winning victory over Bradley Sunday afternoon in Peoria, Illinois.

The Panthers erupted for 16-runs on route to the 16-6 victory. 16 represents the most runs UNI has ever scored for Head Coach, Ryan Jacobs, and the most scored since 1998, and a 21-3 win over Tennessee-Martin that season. 

UNI pounded out 19 hits and had five players with multiple runs batted in.

Chelsea Ross continued her sensational season with another home run. Ross homered in the first, with a 3-run blast to center field. It was Chelsea's 7th home run of the season. Ross also had a 4th RBI in the fifth inning to give her 35 on the season.

UNI three straight RBI doubles that inning, and started the fifth with four straight doubles.

Caitlin Wnek went three for three Sunday, including her 4th home run of the season. Caitlin also had three RBI and two doubles. Wnek leads UNI with 13 doubles on the season 

The game provided a great milestone memory for Courtney Krodinger. Krodinger hit her first home run as a college player. It was a first inning, two run homer to give UNI a five-run early lead.. 

The game featured a two hour and five minute rain delay on the rainy Sunday afternoon in Peoria. The Missouri Valley Conference victory moves the Panthers to 6-5 in conference play.

Next up for UNI is a trip to Iowa City Tuesday to face Iowa at 4 p.m..
