Elizabeth is a Chicago gal who could not be more excited to be working in the Midwest!
Although she comes from a big city, she has a special place for small towns and the stories they have to tell. She could not be more excited to meet the people of the Cedar Valley.
She graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Broadcast Journalism in December 2015 and started working at KWWL in March 2016.
During her undergraduate career, she had a variety of internships in different newsrooms. She interned at the Investigative unit in the NBC affiliate in Chicago and the ABC Brian Ross Investigative Unit in New York. Elizabeth believes investigative journalism is critical to the health of a democracy. She loves the thrill in investigative reporting, and getting to the bottom of the story. Investigative reporting has the potential to shatter old paradigms- which can ultimately create a pathway for change. She won’t stop at face value, and very much enjoys a challenge.
Her favorite part of this field is that everyday she meets someone new. Elizabeth believes everyone has a story that deserves to be heard. And she hopes to share your story.
In her free time, Elizabeth loves working out. Weightlifting, yoga, kick-boxing- she's up for the challenge. And, a firm believer of “balance” in life, she also loves dessert. A little too much. She loves exploring, finding culture, and stumbling upon the quaint parts of each city she passes.
If you see Elizabeth please don’t hesitate to say hi and tell her where to find the best dessert in the Cedar Valley!
