UNI Women beat Nebraska, 64-62, in WNIT opener

Madison Weekly scored a game high 22 points, as the UNI Women rallied to beat Nebraska, 64-62, in the first round of the WNIT Thursday night in Lincoln.

UNI rallied from an eight point third quarter deficit against the BIG Conference Huskers. 

The victory moves the Panthers into the WNIT second round Saturday night, when they will play host to Drake in the McLeod Center in Cedar Falls.

UNI, which won the Missouri Valley Conference regular season championship, improves its season record to 23-10. 

In addition to her team high 22 points, Madison Weekly had six rebounds and a career-tying six assists.

Jen Keitel had 15 points for the Panthers, along with 8 rebounds. Both Amber Sorenson and Angie Davison scored eight.

Tipoff against Drake University Saturday night in the McLeod Center will be 7 p.m.
