For the second time in six weeks, Hawkeye Senior All-American, Jarrod Uthoff, is on the regional cover of Sports Illustrated.
In the latest SI, The March Madness edition, Uthoff gets top billing with another cover photo, as he carries Hawkeye hopes into March Madness later this week in Brooklyn, New York against Temple.
The Cedar Rapids Senior has garnered a host of top awards this season, including BIG Conference Player of the Year honors.
Uthoff was also just named second team All-American by the United States Basketball Writers Association. He becomes the first Hawkeye to ever be honored as a USBWA All-American. Uthoff joins Iowa State star, George Niang, on the second team. Earlier, The Sporting News also named Uthoff second team All-American.
At 21-10, the Hawkeyes are a 7-seed in the NCAA first round against 21-11 Temple, the 10-seed.
Iowa will try to end its late season slump, which saw the Hawks let the BIG Title slip away in the final seven games of the regular season.
Once ranked 4th in the country and perhaps a victory or two away from being voted number 1, Iowa lost six of its final eight games of the season, including a shocking loss to Illinois, 68-66, in the BIG Tournament in Indianapolis
Iowa and Temple tip off shortly after 2 p.m. Friday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Leslie Hospitality owner Edwin Leslie says he doesn't have anything to hide, and to prove it he invited the public to view all of the documents, emails, agreements, and financial statements related to the deal at a public meeting this morning.
