Gladbrook-Reinbeck drops Lynnville-Sully for a return trip to state

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

Defending class 1A champion Gladbrook-Reinbeck punched their ticket for a return to the state tournament, defeating #10 Lynnville Sully 49-41.

The 8th ranked Rebels found themselves trailing at halftime as leading scorer Joe Smoldt was forced to sit much of the second quarter with 3 fouls. Gladbrook-Reinbeck turned the tables in the second half using a 7-0 third quarter run to take control.

Smoldt led the Rebels with 19 in the game. Tyler Eiffler added 9 in the win.
