Iowa State Runs Out Of Time Against Baylor, Falling 100-91.

Posted: Updated:

Monte Morris and the Iowa State Cyclones were about a tenth of a second too late in their bid to take down the Baylor Bears in Waco on Tuesday Night.

Morris knocked down a jumper that would have given the Cyclones an 83-81 victory but he did not beat the clock and the Bears outscored Iowa State 19-10 in overtime and held on for the 100-91 win. Iowa State(18-7) has now lost four in a row to Baylor (18-7) and fall to sixth place in the Big 12.  Iowa State had 3 guys reach 20 points; Abdel Nader led the way with 26, Georges Niang 24, and Monte Morris had 20.  The Cyclones return to Hilton Coliseum on Saturday for a matchup with TCU, who is dead last in the Big 12.  Niang tallied his 2,014th point passing former coach Fred Hoiberg for 3rd all-time in school history.
