Cedar River level spikes Sunday morning

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

Dropping temperatures create a concern for rising water on the Cedar River.

After responding to viewer concerns about ice jamming along the Cedar River, Meteorologist Kyle Kiel confirms there may be some jamming.

There shouldn't be any major flooding, because most of the water is flowing well below the ice.

KWWL confirms there was a spike earlier Sunday, which caused some areas along the river to see more water and even ice.

KWWL responded to areas along the Cedar River between Waterloo and Cedar Falls, and it appears the water is flowing.

KWWL will be monitoring this concern.
