WATERLOO (KWWL) -

Waterloo firefighters rescue four cats from a burning home.

It happened in the 1300 block of Hammond Ave. in Waterloo.

Firefighters responded around 11:40 Sunday afternoon in bitterly cold temperatures.

Our crew on scene says it appears the home is damaged but not destroyed.

The Waterloo Fire Dept. says one person was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries at this time, and the cats were taken by animal control for treatment.
