DUBUQUE (KWWL) -

Dubuque Police are investigating a shooting that happened early Saturday morning.

Lt. Ramirez says 18-year-old Charles Christian Potter of East Dubuque showed up to Finley Hospital with a gunshot wound shortly before 3:00 a.m.

Police say they found the gun used to shoot Potter in a car involved in an accident on the 1900 block of W. 32nd Street.

The driver was 22-year-old Deante Jenkins of East Dubuque.  Jenkins apparently lost control of the car, and went into the ditch.

Police say Owens was driven to the hospital by another person, and is in fair condition.

As for Jenkins, he's charged with reckless use of firearm, OWI and an interference charge.  He also had an outstanding warrant.

Police say Potter and Jenkins were not cooperative in the investigation.

It's still ongoing for other possible charges.
