Iowa man claims $1 million Powerball prize

DES MOINES (KWWL) -

While at the gas station, you could invest your savings in a Powerball ticket.

During Saturday's drawing, 23-year-old Joel Dominguez of Sioux City matched the first five numbers but missed the Powerball. That was still good enough for a one-million dollar prize.

Dominguez drove from Sioux City to Des Moines to collect his winnings.

"Its a feeling that I've never had before, or probably never have again unless I win that 1.3-1.4 billion dollars on Wednesday," said Dominguez.

When asked if he would play again, he said "of course."

Prior to Saturday, Dominguez says the most he's ever won playing Powerball was $8.

The jackpot for Wednesday's drawing is $1.4 billion dollars. It's too big of a number for lottery signs. Instead they will display $999 million until someone wins the jackpot.
