WATERLOO (KWWL) -

An Iowa man is convicted of possessing a firearm as a felon and crack cocaine with the intent to distribute.  32-year-old Marchello Rembert, of Waterloo, was found guilty by a jury in federal court in Cedar Rapids.

Police arrested Rembert on June 4, 2015 in the 200 block of Cottage St. in Waterloo.  Police found 15 bags of crack cocaine in his front pocket.

A loaded 9mm Ruger pistol was also found in his girlfriend's vehicle, which was later linked to Rembert.  He faces as many as 30 years in prison and a $1,250,000 fine.
