Man faces charges following November robbery, shooting reports

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

A man now faces charges following a reported armed robbery at a Waterloo store.

In November, officers responded to Save More Foods after a man walked into the business with a gun and exchanged fire with one of the store's employees. Just after that report, officers responded to a shooting.

Charles Jones told them he'd been shot in a different area of the city. Now, officers say Jones was lying. He'd been hurt during the shootout at the store.

Tuesday, officers arrested Jones. He faces Robbery 1st Degree, Going Armed With Intent, Carrying Weapons, and Intimidation With a Dangerous Weapon for the robbery. and Filing a False Report for telling them he was shot elsewhere.
