TAMA (CNN) -

Snowstorms kept most Iowans from getting out to campaign events on Monday.

But that didn't keep Martin O'Malley from attending his -- even if there was only one person there.

The O'Malley campaign almost canceled the event due to the weather, but the former Maryland Governor said he's glad he pressed on.

O'Malley said the voter showed up because he was still unsure about who to support.

A photographer identified him as an Iowa caucus-goer named Kenneth.

She said in his one-on-one conversation with O'Malley, they discussed a range of topics, from the Syrian refugee crisis to reducing incarceration rates.

O'Malley is running in the single digits behind Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders for the Democratic presidential nomination.

But he's hopeful voters will rally around his campaign.
