Police Investigating a Shootout Between two Cars in Waterloo

Posted: Updated:

Police investigating a shootout between two vehicles that happened around noon today.

It happened in the 600 block of Linn Street in Waterloo.

Police are searching the street for bullet casings.

It has become a common sight in Waterloo and people in the area are frustrated.

"Beyond fed up, like it is ridiculous," said Kentavia Williams. Williams called it senseless violence.
Police say people in a car and van fired multiple shots at each other before taking off.

Close by the Tri-County Head Start Day Care, where Williams takes her niece, was under lock down.

"They are coming over here everyday to come try and learn and enjoy themselves. They have all this commotion and noise going on. Bullets don't have no name, so imagine if it had hit the wrong person, then it would have been terrible," said Williams.

Its a problem, William says needs to change and she isn't alone.

"Make sure they spend some time in prison. To give them some time to think about what they are doing to this community," said Leon Mosely, a concerned resident.

"Its like a big circle and we are all just causing trouble with one an other, instead of just coming together," said Williams.

The daycare tells KWWL, that the lock down went smoothly, thanks to monthly drills.

At this point, police have not identified the people involved in the shooting, and the reason for the shoot out us unknown,
