IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Another protest happened on the University of Iowa's campus today, once again targeting president Bruce Harreld after controversial comments he is accused of making.

Harreld said "unprepared lecturers should be shot."

Protestors said those comments are unacceptable, even when meant rhetorically, considering recent events in America.

"Suggesting violence at this particular moment in the U.S. where there's so much gun violence directed in a variety of ways against so many people," protester Rachel Walerstein said. "It's just, like, the worst contextual moment to make such off the cuff remarks."

Participants marched from the Old Capitol Mall to Jessup Hall, where the president's office is located.

Those protesting even briefly went into the office, though Harreld was not there.

Protesters also staged what they called a performance piece to get the president's attention, in which one student dressed as Harreld himself.
