UPDATE: Authorities investigating a body found in an area river.

The body was found in the Cedar River near Gilbertville on Sunday morning.
A trapper discovered the body and notified the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office.

The man who had traps set near the area of the body - - discovered the partially submerged body while checking his traps.

A normally quiet area along the Cedar River, disturbed by the discovery of a body in the water.
The cause of death not immediately clear, but investigators don't suspect foul play.
"At this point, we are treating it as just a missing found person. There is nothing that indicates at this point, other than the body being found in the river, that is suspicious," Waterloo Police Captain Dave Mohlis.

In order to identify the body police are having to wait until autopsy, which will be performed on Tuesday.

"That identification made. Again, that is going to depend on what kind of records we have to make an identification," said Mohlis.

Records like dental x-rays.
Police unable to determine how long the body was in the water.
"It's too hard to speculate," said Mohlis.

Out of courtesy to the family of missing teen Moe Sed, an active case in Waterloo, police met with his parents.
"We have been in contact with the parents and told them what we have discovered. Not to say that this might be Moe Sed," said Mohlis.

Again KWWL wants to reiterate, Captain Mohlis' statement, at this point they have not connected Moe Sed and this case.
Once the autopsy report comes out, we are going to be able to tell you a lot more about this body discovered here in the Cedar River.

The Waterloo Police Department is investigating after a body was found in the Cedar River just north of Gilbertville.
The Black Hawk County Sheriff's Department recovered the body on Sunday morning.
The body was taken to the State Medical Examiner in Ankeny; an autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
Police and the Sheriff's Department are investigating and will release more information as it becomes available.
