(KWWL) -

Republican Presidential hopeful Ben Carson will return to eastern Iowa today, making a stop in Waterloo before traveling to Cedar Rapids where he'll share the stage with a handful of his GOP rivals.

Carson is headlining a Concerned Veterans for America event at Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center in Waterloo in the early afternoon Saturday. The town hall-style event is scheduled to run from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. this afternoon, with doors opening at 12:30 p.m. The event is free to the public, but an RSVP is preferred and can be attained here:

After the Waterloo event, Carson will also make an appearance at the Rising Tide Summit at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids. That event will span from 2 p.m. through 6 p.m. and will also feature Republican hopefuls Ted Cruz, Carly Fiorina, Rick Santorum and Senator Rand Paul. Tickets for the Summit range from $10 to $45, and more information can be found here:

Carson returns to Iowa trailing in the most recent polls, after holding a lead in Iowa at times throughout the fall months. According to a new CNN/ORC poll released this week, Carson now sits in third place nationally, trailing Donald Trump and the upstart Cruz.

Carson was most recently in eastern Iowa on October 24, when a four-stop book tour in the Hawkeye State had him visiting both Waterloo and Dubuque. The retired neurosurgeon also mixed in Des Moines and Davenport stops during November.
