T-Mobile overtakes Verizon as best cell carrier, according to new poll
Verizon has been knocked out of the top spot as the nation's best wireless carrier, according to a Consumer Reports reader's poll. Instead, T-Mobile came in at No. 1.
The poll is only five years old, but this marks the first time Verizon has not been in the top spot among the biggest four carriers. The results of the poll are based on how readers felt about value, texting, data speeds call quality and customer service.
Other surveys have received different results. RootMetrics, which surveyed network quality in the first part of 2015, ranked Verizon first and T-Mobile last. Ookla, which tests network speed using crowdsourced data from its Speedtest.net website, found that t-Mobile had the fastest performance with Verizon coming in second.
