CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) -

The Iowa Hawkeyes Football team has been on a magical ride this year, finishing their perfect season with a big win over Nebraska in Lincoln Friday.

A number of fans traveled to Lincoln to see the game, but more made their trips much shorter--Friday, quite a few of them at the Buffalo Wild Wings in Cedar Falls.

The atmosphere was electric as Hawkeye fans cheered everything from a simple first down pickup to a long touchdown run from Jordan Canzeri.

Seeing the Hawkeyes finish a perfect season was a very special experience for a number of fans.

"It's crazy," Taylor Steimel said. "When I was a freshman, they were 9-0 for the first time and it was nuts. It's awesome to see them 12-0. Today was my birthday, so great win today."

Not matter what their reason for getting there to watch the game, Hawk fans all had one goal in mind--seeing that 12th win.

"I had to come here because my beautiful wife and three daughters are at home. But my wife just texted me and said they're jumping around the living room. I can't believe it man, 12-0 man. I've been a Hawkeye my whole life. My whole life," Mike Price said.

Even though the Hawkeyes pulled out the win, it didn't come without some very nervous moments along the way.

"I was nervous right up until the onside kick. When we got our hands on it, I finally exhaled," Price said.

Steimel agreed: "I was a little worried. I thought we might trip up on Nebraska, last game, lot at stake there. But they played great, the defense was spectacular."

Iowa fans will get to watch their team try to get one step further in the Big Ten Championship game.
