IOWA CITY (KWWL) -
Iowa City Police arrest a woman for Child Endangerment after she allegedly failed to take a young child to the hospital after he was severely burned.
Jamie Eakes-Netser, 31, was booked in the Johnson County Jail shortly after midnight on Wednesday.
Criminal complaints say that back on October 29, a 3-year-old child was burned by a scalding hot liquid because he was apparently poorly supervised.
The child received first and second degree burns on his chest, arms and legs from the hot liquid, according to documents.
Two days after the toddler was burned, police received an anonymous complaint that he needed medical attention for the "severe" burns.
When officers responded to Eakes-Netser's home, they say she was drunk.
The child was taken to the burn unit at the University of Iowa hospital while his young sister was removed from the home for safety concerns.
Eakes-Netser was charged with Child Endangerment.
