WATERLOO (KWWL) -

The Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa is hosting a #GivingTuesday grant contest next week.

It's a day set aside for giving back after the hectic weekend that includes Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday.

The Community Foundation is hosting a photo/video submission contest on it's Facebook page.  Three winners will get to award a $500 grant to the 501(c)3 nonprofit organization of their choice in the area served by the Foundation.

To participate, take a video or short video of you giving in some way and post it to their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/CFNEIA between 12:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 1.  Winners will be notified in December.

“We want to multiply the joy of giving by offering the $500 grants to be given to the winners’ nonprofit of choice,” said Kaye M. Englin, President and CEO of the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa. “The Community Foundation wants to lift up the #GivingTuesday movement as a way of creating awareness of the importance of giving back, whether that means people make a financial contribution to a charity, volunteer their time, or do a good deed.”
