Gladbrook-Reinbeck wins in Overtime-heads to title game

Gladbrook-Reinbeck is headed to the Class A Iowa High School State Football Championship game.

The Rebels beat Denver, 19-16 in Overtime, to advance to the title game against Akron-Westfield.

Denver's Fletcher Anderson scored on a 5-yard touchdown run to tie the game at 16.

In OT, G-R's Walker Thede hit the game winning field goal, after missing one,which would have won it in regulation.

In other semi-final games involving KWWL area team, Cedar Rapids Kennedy beat Bettendorf, 31-14, to advance to the Class 4A championship game against West Des Moines Dowling. That will be a battle of unbeatens next Friday night.

Saturday, Dike-New Hartford battles defending state champ, Iowa City Regina in Class 1A.  North Fayette Valley also goes for a shot at the title game in Class 2A.
