Missouri football players and students protest

Leaders at a big university are meeting today in the midst of protests being held by students and football players.

At least 30 University of Missouri football players are joining several student groups on campus.

They are protesting the way the school's president has handled issues of racism.

There's been reports of racial slurs used on campus, and a swastika drawn in feces was found in a dorm bathroom.

The protesters say the president mishandled responses to these incidents, and they want him removed.

Last week, one student began a hunger strike while others camped out on the lawn of a university plaza.

The university president issued a statement saying he was dedicated to ongoing dialogue and promised specific plans in the upcoming months.
