IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Following an outbreak of mumps on campus, the University of Iowa is offering a third dose of the measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine for people under the age of 25. The goal is to reduce the number of cases, not only on campus, but across the state of Iowa.

There have been around 100 cases of mumps reported on campus this year. Typically only 10-20 are seen statewide in an entire year.

The university has several dates scheduled for students to receive the vaccine dose:

- November 10 & 11, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. at the Iowa Memorial Union Main Lounge

- November 16, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Burge Hall

- November 16 4-9 p.m. at Mayflower Hall

- November 17 4-9 p.m. at Hillcrest Hall
