DES MOINES (AP) -

Police have identified a man found shot to death on a street north of downtown Des Moines.

Police were called just after 10:30 p.m. Friday to the intersection of 13th Street and Jefferson Avenue for a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a man dead from a gunshot wound.

Police say the man has been identified as 28-year-old Jose Lopez.

Police have declared the death a homicide and are interviewing witnesses and trying to find any suspects.

No other information about the killing has been released.
