Kennedy drops Washington 21-7 to advance to 4A state semifinal

Shaun Beyer came up big with a pair of scores as third ranked Cedar Rapids Kennedy defeated number four Cedar Rapids Washington 21-7 to advance to the class 4A state semifinals.

Tyler Dralle opened the scoring for the Cougars finding the endzone on a 17 yard touchdown run. Beyer would extend that lead hauling in a 61 yard touchdown pass from Nick Duehr for a 14-0 first quarter lead.

Kennedy found the scoreboard late in the half with a 22 yard touchdown strike from T.J. Vogel to Drew Dostal. Vogel, however, threw a pick to Beyer on the next drive. Beyer returned it 88 yards for the score, capping off a big night..
