U.S. Postal Service expecting holiday mail increase

Posted: Updated:
The United States Postal Services says holiday mail is ramping up, and more mail is expected to go out this year.
This season alone the postal service says 15.5 billion pieces of holiday mail will be sent - 600 million of which will be sent out between Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve.
That would be a 10% increase from last year.
Because of the expected increase, the USPS is going to hire an extra 30,000 season workers and will deliver mail 7-days a week starting November 29.
The busiest mail day is expected to be December 21.
