IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Protests against President Bruce Harreld followed him into his first day. Some students and teachers even calling for him to resign.

Hundreds of people gathered around the noon hour on Monday on University of Iowa campus. They then moved inside Jessup Hall to outside of Harrald's office, although it was unclear if he was even inside.

John Logsdon, associate professor at the university says the search for president Harrald was flawed, underhanded, and illegal. He says if Harrald knew about this flawed search, shame on him.

"Or if he wasn't he shouldn't want to work with these people that have manipulated the facts and the truth with the so called open search," said Logsdon.

Logsdon says he actually spoke to Harrald and told him to resign. He says they shook hands and Harrald indicated the protesters didn't have all the information regarding his resume.
