Pop star Taylor Swift is being sued for 42 million dollars for allegations that she stole the lyrics to her 2014 hit "Shake It Off".

The suit alleges Swift took the lyrics "The fakers gonna fake", "Haters gonna hate", and "Players gonna play" from a 2013 song written by U.S. singer, Jesse Braham. Braham says he has copyright ownership of those phrases.

Braham says he wants to be recognized for the lyrics.

"Shake It Off" is one of Swift's biggest singles, going platinum eight times.

Representatives for Swift have yet to comment on the case.
