Veterans Day program at Hoover Museum

The Herbert Hoover Presidential Museum will present The Life and Love of George Sizer on Veterans Day.

It's a program about a man named George, who was born in England and emigrated to Iowa. Then in 1862, he enlisted in the 24th Iowa Volunteer Infantry Regiment. Through war,  George wrote 166 letters to sweetheart who was back in Iowa. 

It will be presented by Dr. Mark DePue, the Director of Oral History at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library.

The event takes place Nov. 11 at 2:00 p.m. in the Figge Auditorium. 

Admission to the presentation is free with paid museum admission
