WATERLOO (KWWL) -
A Waterloo man, shot at by police during an incident in April, is arrested in Davenport.
Jovan Webb was involved in an incident at New World Lounge II in Waterloo on April 5. Webb was arrested by the Davenport Police Department for several arrest warrants.
The night of the officer-involved shooting, Webb allegedly tried to run from Officer Mark Nissen and hit Police Sergeant Steven Bose several times with his car, according to the report from the Iowa Department of Public Safety.
As Webb kept driving, Sergeant Bose had to dive out of the way of the driver side of the vehicle, which led Officers Nissen and Officer Thomas Frein to think their colleague was being drug by Webb's vehicle. Officer Nissen pulled out his gun, shooting at Webb's car four times; Officer Frein ran after the car and shot three more times.
On August 21, the Attorney General's Office cleared the officers, determining they used justifiable force.
Webb was wanted for for Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations (Peace Officer) while Using a Dangerous Weapon, Interference with Official Acts While Armed with a Firearm and Carrying Weapons; he faces additional charges from the Davenport Police Department of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver.
