School bus driver charged after allegedly assaulting student

An Iowa school bus driver is in jail for allegedly assaulting a special needs student. Robert Scarbrough is charged with assault causing injury and child endangerment.

This all happened on a Johnston School District bus. According to officials, a student did not follow instructions. Scarbrough approached the student and police say the student said something to the driver which angered him, he then grabbed the student and pushed them to the ground. Someone recorded the whole thing as it happened..

At the next stop several students ran off the bus and alerted a Polk County deputy.

The district says the driver is now on unpaid leave.
