CORALVILLE (KWWL) -

The Coralville Transit Intermodal Facility opened in August and offers what's called Earth-friendly services people may not see elsewhere in Eastern Iowa.

That means things like electric car charging stations, bike lockers, bicycle coalition offices, and most importantly, a new home of the area's Megabus station.

Some frequent Megabus riders are glad the stop moved from downtown Iowa City to the new facility in Coralville, while others think it's too far out of the way.

"I think it's less convenient," University of Iowa student Rebecca Draper said. "because I have to take a taxi from the campus to here, instead of just taking the cam-buses to the Iowa City facility."

"It's a lot nicer of a waiting area," Des Moines native Elliot Burke said. "and it's certainly warmer waiting for the bus."

"To get here, it was less convenient because it took me 15 minutes," UI student Evan Sturgeon said. "[The Iowa City station] was right downtown, which was much more convenient."

Though the new facility is a farther trek for commuters, some say the indoor waiting area makes it all worth it.
