BLACK HAWK COUNTY (KWWL) -

Deputies and other employees at the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office will participate in No-Shave November to raise money for the “Sullivan Hartogh Davis Post 730 Waterloo Honor Flight” program.

Beginning November 1, employees will be allowed to go neatly trimmed, but unshaven for the month.

“The Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office has been involved and supported the Waterloo Honor Flight since its inception. We routinely show up to demonstrate law enforcement’s support of our veterans by lighting Airport Boulevard with our emergency lights once the veterans arrive back home from their flight.” says Sheriff Tony Thompson.

"This is yet another outstanding effort from our community and our agency and our officers are proud to provide funding that will allow even a greater impact for next year’s flights. So, if you see us looking a little scruffy, it’s to make sure that all veterans eligible for the Honor Flight have the ability to participate."

No-Shave November is a nationwide movement with a goal of raising awareness for cancer.
