Police say 59-year-old Terry Lynn Harp has died after she was hit by a car this morning.

Cedar Falls Police say the 59-year-old woman was trying to cross University Avenue just east of the intersection with Cedar Heights Drive at about 5:30 a.m.

Investigators say the woman walked in front of a car when she was hit. The car had just passed through the intersection on a green light.

Police say the woman had life-threatening head injuries. She was taken to UnityPoint Health Allen Hospital in Waterloo.

Police responded to an accident this morning in Cedar Falls, just before 6 a.m.

Cedar Falls Police say a woman was hit by a car at Cedar Heights and University Avenue. Police say the woman, in her late 50s, has severe injuries and is currently at Allen Hospital. Police say she could soon be flown to a hospital in Iowa City.

According to police, the woman stepped out in front of the car heading eastbound on University Avenue.
