CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. (KWWL) -

Police from both North and South Carolina are being called on to assist with an investigation of epic and explosive proportions.

Officers were called to the home and warehouse of 51-year-old Brent Nicholson of Chesterfield County, South Carolina this week -- and found an enormous amount of weapons upon entry.

At least 10,000 guns have been discovered and are now being confiscated in a gigantic police seizure.

Investigators believe Nicholson was hoarding the weapons and was not intending to sell them, but it's also unclear as to how the man came across such a large amount of guns.

Amazingly, the number of guns is sure to grow even larger as nearly 100 officers continue to search the property.

Several stolen chainsaws have also been found.

"We're still finding guns in safes and hidden under beds," Chesterfield County Sheriff Jay Brooks said. "So we'll be here (over) the next couple of days."

Currently, Nicholson has only been charged with possession of stolen property in connection with the massive amount of discovered weapons.
