UNI defensive back Tim Kilfoy shut the door as the 22nd ranked Panthers picked up a big 10-7 upset over #6 South Dakota State. On 4th and 1 at the UNI 10 yard line, Karter Schult hit SDSU's Kyle Paris behind the line of scrimmage, while Kilfoy cleaned it up for the tackle for loss to seal the victory in the final minutes.

Both defenses held the advantage through the first half. UNI scored the only points of the first 30 minutes on a late 24 yard field goal by Michael Schmadeke.

South Dakota State countered in the second half with a 60 yard drive. Taryn Christion capped it with a 6 yard touchdown pass to Connor Landberg for the Jackrabbits only lead at 7-3 midway through the third quarter.

UNI struck back on their very next drive going 79 yards for a score. Aaron Bailey broke free on a 35 yard quarterback keeper to give the Panthers a 10-7 lead they would never relinquish.

Bailey put together one of his best games on the ground, leading UNI with 169 yards on 23 carries.
