IOWA CITY (KWWL) -

Volunteers are needed at Wetherby Park Edible Forest on Friday October 23rd.

Wetherby Park Edible Forest is located at 2400 Taylor Drive in Iowa City.

Those volunteering will seed grass in the pathways, help build a natural playscape using buried logs and stumps, as well as do some light weeding.

The event will go from 8 until 11:30 a.m. and is hosted by Backyard Abundance and the Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department.

Volunteers are asked to bring rakes, pitchforks, shovels and wheel barrows if they can, as well as wear jeans, gloves and boots.

There will be refreshments provided.
