UPDATE:

Waterloo Fire crews believe the fire was started by smoking materials.  An autopsy is scheduled to determine the exact cause of the woman's death.

Waterloo firefighters say they found one person dead at the scene of a house fire this morning.

Crews responded to a house fire along Linden Avenue and found a woman dead.

According to Waterloo Fire, Rebecca Lavenz was 64-years-old and died in the fire.

Crews can't specify exactly how the victim died or what caused the fire, at this time.

They say she lived alone in the home.

Firefighters believe the fire started near the dining area.

Waterloo fire is calling it an "accidental death related to the fire."

Firefighters are on the scene of a house fire in Waterloo. The house is located on Linden Ave.

When our crew arrived on the scene shortly after 4:30 a.m., there was no visible smoke or flames but firefighters were still walking through the home. We've spoken to firefighters and confirmed there was a fire there this morning.

As of 5:45 a.m., firefighters are still on the scene. At this point we have not been able to confirm if anyone was hurt.
