Esty responds to KWWL's story:

"We believe we are the best platform for creative entrepreneurs, empowering them to succeed on their own terms. Etsy has a decade of experience understanding the needs of artists and sellers and supporting them in ways that no other marketplace can. Our platform attracts 21+ million thoughtful consumers seeking to discover unique goods, and build relationships with the people who make and sell them." - Chad Dickerson, Etsy CEO

Etsy is the popular site for online shoppers to buy hand-crafted items from small businesses.
The company is facing new competition.
Amazon has launched its own handmade site and KWWL's Jessica Hartman caught up with a local Etsy vendor, who explains what this means for buyers and sellers.

Angie Burnssen started customizing wine glasses to make some extra cash, but now filling Etsy orders is her full-time job.
"Seven in the morning until 10 at night or whatever, I am loving what I am doing," said Burnssen.
When she first heard about Amazon's handmade site.
"Very Skeptical," said Burnssen.
Now Angie believes Amazon's authentication process will benefit the businesses making the items and the shoppers buying them.
"Etsy you can just throw anything up there. You don't have to prove that you are a handmade shop. You are suppose to be, but they have no verification processes," said Burnssen.
Amazon has an application process that requires vendors to show pictures of their workshop and processes. Shoppers can view the pictures on a vendor's page.
"Waiting for the you're in," said Burnssen.
Angie is in the middle of the application process.

She says it was an opportunity to connect with nearly 300 million more shoppers.
"People are looking for the mom and pop little shops that literally put their heart and soul into their craft," said Burnssen.
